Use carbide drills for hole saws with carbide teeth. Selection of suitable drill bit for hole saw holder: The choice of drill bit depends on which type of hole saw (bi-metal or Carbide Cut or 3TPI) is placed on the holder and depends on the material to be cut. Thus, drills come in two different lengths (short or long) and in two different qualities (HSS or HM). A Carbide Cut holesaw for cutting wood/plaster requires an HSS drill, and it should be long because the hole saw has a larger cutting depth.
