Who is Spider-Man?
Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962, Spider-Man is Peter Parker, a young orphan raised by his loving uncles. After being bitten by a genetically modified spider, Peter gained arachnid-like powers. Using his scientific skills, he created web-shooters and a blue-and-red suit, becoming Spider-Man. Following the tragic death of his Uncle Ben—caused by a criminal Peter once let escape—he vowed to fight crime with the motto: "With great power comes great responsibility."
